What makes the Audi RS5 special
Audi RS5 remap: what a naturally aspirated V8 can add
The 4.2 FSI V8 has no turbocharger, and with the GAN GA+ tuning box it goes from 450 hp and 430 Nm to 486 hp and 464 Nm, within the module's rating of up to 12% more power. They are catalogue gains stated for these engine types, not a measurement taken on your own car. It is a high-revving V8, and its naturally aspirated layout limits what any modification can add.
The RS5 8T engine is developed from the one in the RS4 B7. The 2.9 TFSI of the RS5 F5 is not in the catalogue.

Audi RS5: flash remap or tuning box?
Unlike a flash remap, the GAN box doesn't rewrite your ECU software: the factory software, checksums and flash counter stay as they are, and the module comes off in about a minute. Because the ECU software is never changed and the module can be removed at any time, your manufacturer's warranty is preserved.
Does the GAN module change anything in the RS5 8T's S tronic gearbox?
No, the module does not reprogram the gearbox. All RS5 8T cars come with the seven-speed S tronic and quattro, with a crown-gear centre differential.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?
Yes. In the UK a power increase counts as a modification, and insurers expect to be told about it before you drive with the box fitted. Each insurer handles it differently, so check with yours first and quote the before-and-after output from the table above.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
