Chiptuning Peugeot
Up to 30% more power for your Peugeot
Our Peugeot catalog covers 365 engines (models: 31, generations: 35). For 79% of the engines there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning boxes; for 77 naturally aspirated engines, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Peugeot plug-in remap: no changes to the ECU software
The tuning box sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals – unlike a flash remap, which rewrites the ECU. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

Peugeot remapping: questions
1.6 VTi 120 or 1.6 THP 156: which GAN box fits, and what does each gain?
The VTi, which is naturally aspirated, takes the GAN GA+; the THP, with its turbo, takes the GAN GT. A 207 1.6 VTi starts at 120 hp and 160 Nm and ends at 134 hp and 179 Nm, while the 1.6 THP moves from 156 hp and 240 Nm to 185 hp and 312 Nm. These are the stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading from your own car.
Does the GAN GT cover the 1.6 HDi, 2.0 HDi and BlueHDi?
All of them: each power output has its own figures in the catalogue. A 207, for instance, offers the 1.6 HDi at 90 hp or 110 hp.
1.2 PureTech 110 and 130, or 1.2 VTi 82: which GAN box?
The PureTech at 110 and 130 hp is a turbo, so it suits the GAN GT. The naturally aspirated 1.2 VTi at 82 hp suits the GAN GA+.
Tuning box or remap for a Peugeot HDi?
A remap rewrites the factory software, whereas the GAN tuning box works between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, checksums and flash counter stay as they were, and the engine keeps its factory protections. Because the ECU software is never changed and the box can be removed at any time, your manufacturer's warranty is preserved.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs on your engine's page.
Will a tuning box affect my Peugeot warranty?
No. The box does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. On top of that, we give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or remap: which should I choose?
A flash remap permanently rewrites the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning box adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute. A flash remap can be the better choice if the engine has upgraded hardware, or if the car is out of warranty and you accept the risks.
Peugeot chip tuning: what to know about the engines
Peugeot remap or tuning box: one 1.6 block, two kinds of engine
One pair of engines shows the problem: the 1.6 VTi at 120 hp and the 1.6 THP at 156 hp share a block but need different GAN boxes. Peugeot developed the Prince family with BMW and first fitted it to the 207 in 2006; both engines belong to it. Variable valve timing and lift mark the naturally aspirated VTi, while the THP is the turbo version. The 1.2 follows the same pattern: the 1.2 PureTech (110 and 130 hp) is a turbo, whereas the 1.2 VTi (82 hp) is naturally aspirated.
In Britain the 308 has been sold with the 1.2 PureTech at 110 and 130 hp; in the catalogue the 308’s 1.2 turbo appears as the 1.2 THP at 110 and 131 hp and the 1.2T eTHP at 136 hp, so match it by engine rather than by the exact figure. Below the 1.6 sits the 1.4 VTi, the EP3, with 95 hp. EP6 is the code of the 1.6 VTi; the THP extends it with letters such as DT, DTS or FDTR. So one 1.6-litre displacement covers everything from 120 hp in one Peugeot to 250 hp in another.
Reading Peugeot petrol engine codes
Start from the code, which is a family name plus an index. The petrol codes are TU (1.1 to 1.6), EW (2.0), EP (the Prince 1.4 and 1.6) and EB (the three-cylinder PureTech). The TU engines went into the 206, 306 and 307, and the EW into the 206, 307 and 407. Look for the three-cylinder PureTech, in 1.0 and 1.2 litres, in the 208, 308 and 2008.
UK trim names such as Allure and GT Line say nothing about the engine, so go by the code. The THP comes under several codes, among them the EP6DT at 150 hp, the EP6CDT at 156 hp, the EP6DTS at 175 hp and the EP6FDTR at 250 and 270 hp. For turbo engines choose the GAN GT (rated at up to 30% more power); for the naturally aspirated VTi and TU engines choose the GAN GA+ (rated at up to 12%).

Diesels and the sporty versions
HDi is the diesel family: the DV engines run from 1.4 to 1.6 litres, and the DW engines are the 2.0 and 2.2. The 1.6 and 2.0 were also offered as BlueHDi from 2013. The variant of a DW10 or DW12 is named by its final letters, for example BTED4 or CTED4. HDi and BlueHDi engines are turbocharged, so they suit the GAN GT, which is the box to look at for a Peugeot HDi remap.
Among the sporty versions are the 206 RC at 177 hp, the 207 RC at 174 hp and the 308 GTi at 250 and 270 hp. The 308 GT makes 205 hp as a 1.6 THP and 180 hp as a 2.0 BlueHDi. Identify your car by model number first (206, 307, 308 or 208) and by the engine code second.
Which Peugeot models are in the catalog
The catalog covers 31 models from Peugeot. The most engines are listed for the 308 (57), 508 (25) and 208 (22). The biggest gain among the models is on the 407: up to +65 hp.
Naturally aspirated Peugeot engines
For 77 naturally aspirated engines from Peugeot, there is the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% lower fuel consumption in ECO mode, which means better MPG. You can fit it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
How to find your Peugeot engine
Pick your model from the list above, then the generation by model year and chassis code, then the engine by the power output in your registration document. The engine page shows the exact gain and the price of the box.
