FAQ

Every GAN is designed and programmed for a particular engine. The GAN GA is equipped with a universal OBD-II connector, whereas for the GAN GT we use OEM cables, which match the sensors in your particular car.
The GAN GT is placed between the ECU and the engine sensors. The GAN GT optimises data from the sensors according to the engine operating mode and GAN driving mode selected. This leads to both enhanced performance and fuel savings.
The GAN GA/GA+ is plugged into your car’s OBD-II connector, through which the GAN GA/GA+ communicates with the vehicle’s engine control unit. The tuning module is able to correct the ignition timing and quality of fuel–air mixture in real time, thereby achieving an increase in performance and fuel savings.
Several tuning module manufacturers use a similar system. GAN is a combination of well-balanced software and a wide range of set-ups. GAN has a moisture-resistant aluminium housing (IP67 rated). The smartphone connect feature allows you to fine-tune GAN to a particular vehicle, without having to open the housing. GAN has a few preconfigured operating modes. All GAN modules are made of high-tech materials (aluminium and carbon).
GAN devices are designed for cars with naturally aspirated engines, common-rail diesel engines and turbocharged petrol engines. If your vehicle is not listed in our database, please contact our customer service department as we might be currently developing or testing the program for your vehicle.
Yes. We provide our clients with five free tuning files for any vehicle available in our database. If you switch vehicles, you can reprogram your GAN to another one. In the case of turbocharged engines, you may need to purchase another cable since different vehicles are equipped with different sensors.
Yes. If driving behaviour is adapted, GAN can reduce fuel consumption. The increased torque – primarily at low and medium rpm ranges – and faster upshifts result in higher speed at lower rpm and therefore fuel economy.
No. GAN modules are not designed to increase the Vmax limit. In most countries, maximum speed is regulated electronically and by law.

Since GAN products for turbocharged engines are installed under the car bonnet, they are moisture-resistant and IP67 rated, which means they are capable of withstanding water immersion. Generally speaking, none of our competitors can demonstrate such characteristics.

Since GAN products for naturally aspirated engines are installed inside the vehicle, they don’t require moisture protection.

GAN modules are fully functional at temperatures ranging from –40°C to +60°С. They function properly both in Asia or Africa and Nordic countries such as Norway.
Yes, if the car is designed to run on biofuel.
INSTALLATION
In most cases, GAN products are designed for self-installation, which takes no more than 15 minutes. Technical skills or knowledge are not required. You will find a video installation guide on our website. Installation in some turbocharged vehicles may take more than 15 minutes as the sensors can be difficult to reach.
No, special tools are not needed. Sometimes, some parts need to be disassembled in order to reach the sensors. In this case, we recommend visiting one of our customer service representatives who can help you with installation.
GAN products for turbocharged engines are installed under the car bonnet. The module should not be connected too close to hot or vibrating components and pipes. The GAN cable should be attached to the cable harness under the car bonnet.
If you can’t find the necessary sensor, you can send us pictures of your engine so that we can show you where to install it.
Yes. We have a database full of installation pictures for various cars. Our technical support team will send you all the necessary photos upon request.
Please contact our technical support representatives.

Yes. GAN doesn’t increase the strain on the automatic transmission. The transmission control unit notes the increase in torque by GAN and shifts into the necessary gear to match this torque. This means you can reduce fuel consumption by adapting your driving behaviour.
You can download the GAN app for your smartphone from Google Play (Android) and the App Store (Apple) for free. Just type GAN in the search box.

If these requirements are not met, we have the right to refuse the refund in full or in part.

Thank you for your understanding.

SAFETY & PROTECTION
The warranty period depends on the type of device: GAN GA – 2 years, GAN GTL – 3 years, GAN GA+ and GAN GT – 5 years.
A more powerful engine automatically puts extra strain on some car components, such as the transmission and chassis. However, engines and transmissions are designed with a two- to fourfold safety margin. Since GAN increases torque only when needed (e.g. when overtaking or accelerating), the strain is short term. In most cases, a power increase occurs in the medium rpm range without reaching the power limit. All modern engines have a safety system that monitors critical engine modes and reduces power when needed, thereby protecting against overload. Since GAN modules don’t turn off this function, your engine is fully protected. If used properly, GAN does not affect the engine’s lifetime.
Yes, we offer an additional engine warranty of up to 2 years (up to EUR 5,000). The warranty period and amount depend on the type of device. You will be given the option of applying for additional engine warranty upon purchase of each additional engine control unit. For this, it is necessary to complete the online registration form. If your application is approved, you will receive the corresponding certificate.
Yes. GAN modules are designed and tested so that they can be used on vehicles equipped with diesel particulate filters (DPFs).
Usually, GAN cannot be detected by modern diagnostics devices and it is impossible to prove that performance has been enhanced electronically. However, we recommend removing the GAN module prior to having your car serviced to avoid having to answer additional questions should a mechanic find the device in your car.
