Chiptuning Skoda
Up to 30% more power for your Skoda
Our Skoda catalog covers 191 engines (models: 9, generations: 18). For 59% of the engines there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning boxes; for the rest, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Skoda plug-in remap: no changes to the ECU software
The tuning box sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals – unlike a flash remap, which rewrites the ECU. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

Skoda remapping: questions
What does the GAN GT add to an Octavia vRS?
An Octavia III vRS 2.0 TSI rated at 220 hp and 350 Nm becomes 264 hp and 435 Nm with the GAN GT. Each of the other vRS versions has its own row: the 245 hp car, the 184 hp 2.0 TDI and the Octavia II models. These are stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno result from your own car.
How do I tell a pump-injector Octavia 2.0 TDI from a common-rail one?
The Octavia II 2.0 TDI came in both types, but the 1.9 TDI only ever had pump injectors. The 140 hp 2.0 TDI moved from pump injectors to common rail in May 2010, so check the engine code and the build date.
What can a Škoda 1.6 FSI or 2.0 FSI gain with the GAN GA+?
The Octavia II's FSI engines are direct-injection without a turbo, so they suit the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power.
Tuning box or remap for a Škoda TSI or TDI?
A remap rewrites the factory software, whereas the GAN tuning box sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals instead. The factory software, checksums and flash counter stay as they were, and the engine keeps all its factory protections. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed and the box can come off at any time.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are on your engine's page.
Will a tuning box affect my Skoda warranty?
No. The box does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. On top of that, we give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or remap: which should I choose?
A flash remap permanently rewrites the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning box adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute. A flash remap can be the better choice if the engine has upgraded hardware, or if the car is out of warranty and you accept the risks.
Skoda chip tuning: what to know about the engines
Škoda Octavia vRS remap: the RS always has a turbo
If you want to understand Škoda tuning, start with the RS, badged vRS in Great Britain and Ireland: it is the most powerful version and comes with either a TSI petrol or a TDI diesel. Each generation has a turbo: the Octavia I RS runs the 1.8T at 180 hp, and the Octavia II the 2.0 TFSI at 200 hp or the 2.0 TDI at 170 hp. For an Octavia vRS remap, note that the Octavia III offers the 2.0 TSI in 220, 230 and 245 hp forms or the 2.0 TDI at 184 hp, and the Octavia IV has the 2.0 TSI at 245 hp.
A UK-market Octavia IV 2.0 TDI has been listed at 150 hp, which matches the 150 hp row in the catalogue. The GAN GT suits the Octavia II and III RS versions.
Under the skin, a Škoda engine is a Volkswagen engine
Škoda engines follow the Volkswagen Group, which bought into the company after 1990 and owns it today. Three VW engine families sit in the Octavia III: the EA211 (1.2 and 1.4 TSI, later 1.0 and 1.5 TSI), the EA888 (1.8 and 2.0 TSI, including the vRS) and the EA288 (1.6 and 2.0 TDI). The SEAT Leon III, Audi A3 8V and Golf VII share these engines, and the Octavia III and Leon III even share many codes, such as CJZA, CHPA, CJSA, CKFC and CUPA. Most turbo engines suit the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power, and the naturally aspirated FSI engines suit the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%; the catalogue shows which box your exact engine needs.

What the engine names and codes mean
TSI means a direct-injection turbo petrol, and every TSI in the Octavia II to IV has a turbo. FSI is direct injection without a turbo, as in the Octavia II's 1.6 FSI and 2.0 FSI; TFSI is the turbo version, and the 2.0 TFSI vRS was later renamed 2.0 TSI. TDI is a turbodiesel, with PD for pump injectors and CR for common rail.
The number before the letters is the displacement in litres, so a 1.4 TSI is 1,395 cm³ and a 2.0 TDI is 1,968 cm³. Green tec and GreenLine mark the economical versions, such as the Octavia III 1.6 TDI at 110 hp; Scout is the off-road version. To identify your engine, combine that name with the engine code and the power figure in your documents.
Škoda models in the catalogue
The Octavia, in four generations, and the Superb form the core of the range, with the Fabia, Rapid, Yeti, Roomster, Praktik, Karoq and Kodiaq alongside. Britain's current range includes the Fabia, Octavia, Superb, Karoq and Kodiaq; the Rapid, Yeti, Roomster and Praktik are discontinued here. The Superb III has TSI engines (1.4, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0) from 125 to 280 hp and TDI engines (1.6 and 2.0) from 120 to 200 hp.
Which Skoda models are in the catalog
The catalog covers 9 models from Skoda. The most engines are listed for the Octavia (59), Fabia (40) and Superb (33). The biggest gain among the models is on the Octavia: up to +80 hp.
Naturally aspirated Skoda engines
For 47 naturally aspirated engines from Skoda, there is the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% lower fuel consumption in ECO mode, which means better MPG. You can fit it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
How to find your Skoda engine
Pick your model from the list above, then the generation by model year and chassis code, then the engine by the power output in your registration document. The engine page shows the exact gain and the price of the box.
