Changan plug-in remap: no changes to the ECU software

Changan remapping: questions
Changan UNI-V, UNI-T and UNI-S 1.5T: what does the GAN GT add?
On the UNI-V and UNI-S the 1.5T Blue Whale is a turbo engine: with the GAN GT it moves from 181 hp and 300 Nm to 219 hp and 363 Nm. Treat those as the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car. Ratings differ from market to market: the 1.5T makes 188 hp in China, and the CS55 Plus is rated at 181 hp in Ukraine. Go by your own car's rating.
Is there a GAN box for the Changan Alsvin and Eado?
Yes, the GAN GA+ suits both: in the catalogue the Alsvin 1.5 (107 hp) goes to 120 hp and 162 Nm, and the Eado 1.6 (124 hp) to 139 hp and 179 Nm. Read the GAN GA+ figure of up to 12% more power as a ceiling, not a target.
The Italian DR Stilnovo 6 runs a Changan 1.5 turbo: is it the same engine?
The Stilnovo 6 is related to the Changan CS55 Plus: it uses a 1.5 turbo with 180 hp and also comes as a bi-fuel version for petrol and LPG. As a turbo petrol, it falls under the GAN GT.
Does the Changan Deepal S07 or S05 take a GAN box?
No. Both the Deepal S07 and S05 are electric cars, whereas the GAN box adjusts the signals of combustion engine sensors. In Britain the S07 was launched as an all-electric SUV, so claims about petrol-engine tuning would not apply to the official UK product.
Changan remap or tuning box: what stays untouched?
Where a remap rewrites the software in the control unit, the GAN box sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, checksums and flash counter are left as they were, and no traces remain once the box is removed.
Should I declare the GAN box to my insurer?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are on your engine's page.
Will a tuning box affect my Changan warranty?
No. The box does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. On top of that, we give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or remap: which should I choose?
A flash remap permanently rewrites the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning box adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute. A flash remap can be the better choice if the engine has upgraded hardware, or if the car is out of warranty and you accept the risks.

Changan tuning box in Britain: an electric brand since 2025
A Changan remap is a new subject in Europe: the brand only arrived on 21 March 2025, and it arrived as an electric marque. In Britain the official launch came in September 2025 with the all-electric Deepal S07, followed by the Deepal S05 in 2026, so the petrol models in our catalogue are not official UK products. The launch was held in Mainz alongside Deepal and Avatr. Sales are run from Munich, with national companies in Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain. The electric Deepal S07 was the first model, launched in April 2025 in Norway, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
Sales had spread to eight countries by December 2025, Germany, the United Kingdom and Norway among them, and Italy and Spain joined that same month. Next came the Deepal S05; plug-in hybrid versions of the S05 and S07 are due in 2026. None of the petrol engines in the GAN catalogue (1.5T, 1.6 and 1.8) belongs to the official European Changan range.
Where the catalogue models come from
China, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the CIS are where the Alsvin, Benni, CM-8, CS75 with the 1.8, Eado, Honor and Raeton are sold. You won't find them in the European Changan line-up, or in European lists of Changan models. The official UK range names only the Deepal S07 and S05, and the CS35, Benni, Eado, Honor, UNI-S, Alsvin, CM-8, CS75, Raeton and UNI-V are not part of it. UNI-S is the Middle East name for the second-generation CS55 Plus; the Nevo Q05 is the range-extender version of it.
Chinese-market UNI-V and UNI-S cars carry the 1.5T Blue Whale at 188 hp and 300 Nm. Ukraine sits outside the EU: there the CS55 Plus 1.5T has been sold since January 2024 with 181 hp and 300 Nm, and the CS35 Plus 1.4 turbo makes 150 hp and 250 Nm. "BlueCore" is Changan's trade name for its petrol engines; the 1.5T Blue Whale is the 1.5 turbo of that family. On model names: UNI covers the UNI-K, UNI-T, UNI-V and UNI-S, CS is the crossover range (CS35, CS75, CS95), and iDD stands for the hybrid system.

The nearest European cars
At the Turin Motor Show in September 2025, Italy's DR Group showed the Stilnovo 5 and Stilnovo 6. Both cars take their underpinnings from the Changan CS35 Plus and CS55 Plus. Under the bonnet, the Stilnovo 6 has a 1.5 turbo with 180 hp and the Stilnovo 5 a 1.4 T-GDI with 157 hp.
Both offer an LPG option. Which box fits a combustion engine is settled by the catalogue. Turbo engines such as the 1.5T take the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power, and the 1.5 and 1.6 of the Alsvin and Eado take the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%.
