Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Chevrolet Captiva remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Chevrolet Captiva special
Chevrolet Captiva remap: the 2.2 D 184 hp comes first
Start with the 2.2 D, the Captiva diesel that matters most: 184 hp, 400 Nm and four-wheel drive, built from February 2011 to September 2018. Chevrolet sold the Captiva new in Britain until the brand left the UK retail market at the end of 2015, with a facelift in 2011. In Germany, about 62% of registered Captivas were diesels. A box for the Captiva depends on the engine generation, because the February 2011 facelift changed the engines; the diesels take the GAN GT. UK brochures call the catalogue's 2.2 D the 2.2 VCDi, in 163 hp and 184 hp forms.
At the facelift the 2.0 VCDi from VM Motori was replaced by the 2.2 D: 163 hp and 350 Nm with two-wheel drive, 184 hp and 400 Nm with four-wheel drive. On a used Captiva, this swap from the 2.0 to the 2.2 diesel is the first thing to settle. Every engine version has its own output, so the box has to be matched to both the year and the output. For the earlier 2.0 VCDI the catalogue lists 126 hp and 150 hp; the lower one never reached Germany.
The petrol Captivas
Petrol Captivas have a 2.4, at 136 hp at first and 167 hp from 2011, or a V6: a 3.2 with 230 hp, later replaced by a 3.0 with 258 hp. The catalogue lists the 3.2 V6 at 230 hp and 297 Nm and the 3.0 V6 at 258 hp and 288 Nm; both are matched to the GAN GA+. Both V6 engines came with four-wheel drive only.
The other V6 versions in the catalogue, at 249 hp and 264 hp, and the 3.6, belong to cars sold outside Europe. The Captiva shares its platform with the Opel Antara (the Vauxhall Antara in Britain), but the box is chosen by engine and output, not by platform.
Chevrolet Captiva remap: common questions
Captiva 2.2 VCDi remap: how much more power does the 184 hp version get?
The GAN GT lifts the 184 hp, 400 Nm diesel to 236 hp and 505 Nm. Every Captiva diesel takes the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power. Those are the stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your own car.
Is my Captiva 2.2 D the 163 hp or the 184 hp version?
Drive and output tell them apart: two-wheel drive for the 163 hp car, four-wheel drive for the 184 hp one. In Britain the 184 hp engine went into the four-wheel-drive versions such as the LTZ, while the front-wheel-drive LS had the 163 hp one. The GAN GT suits both, and the earlier 2.0 VCDi cars too.
Is there a tuning box for the Captiva 2.4 and the V6 petrol?
Yes: the 2.4 and the V6 engines take the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power on naturally aspirated engines.
Should I declare the GAN box to my insurer?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
