What makes the Citroen C1 special
Citroen C1 remap: which 1.0 is yours?
One detail decides the box for your C1, and that is which 1.0 is in the car: it was sold with 68, 69 and 72 hp. The C1 was sold new in Britain across both generations until production ended. British first-generation cars carry trim names such as Vibe, Rhythm, VT and VTR, while the second generation uses VTi engine badges and trims called Touch, Feel and Flair. The C1 I (2005–2014) has 68 hp. The C1 II has 69 hp from 2014, often listed as 68 hp, and 72 hp from April 2018.
Both the 1.0 and the 1.2 petrol take the GAN GA+. The 1.4 HDi 54 in the C1 I is a turbo diesel, so it takes the GAN GT. In Britain it was a rare choice next to the 1.0 petrol.

The GAN GA+ takes the 68 hp, 93 Nm car to 76 hp and 104 Nm. These are catalogue gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your own car. Expect a modest step on a small naturally aspirated engine: GAN rates the GAN GA+ at up to 12% more power, and the GAN GT on the turbo 1.4 HDi at up to 30%.
Citroen C1 1.0: ECU remap or GAN tuning box, and what is the difference?
A flash remap replaces the program in the engine control unit, whereas the GAN box adjusts the sensor signals on their way to the ECU. The ECU software is never changed and the box can come off at any time, so your manufacturer's warranty is preserved.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
