Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.
Same badge, different factory power outputs in this generation:
Daihatsu Sirion remap: what changes
More power and torque without rewriting the ECU or swapping any parts. The GAN box only adjusts the engine sensor signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Daihatsu Sirion special
Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 remap: before or after the facelift
On a small naturally aspirated engine like the Sirion 1.3, the question is how much a tuning box can add. The 1.3 K3-VE has 87 hp and 120 Nm before the 2007 facelift; after it the catalogue lists 90 hp. The 1.0 1KR-FE is a three-cylinder that came with a manual gearbox only, and the catalogue gives it 70 hp and 93 Nm. UK road tests describe the 1.0 as adequate but slow; being naturally aspirated, it gets a modest gain, not turbo-style power. The 1.3 is available with front- or four-wheel drive and with a manual or an automatic gearbox.
The 1.5 3SZ-VE makes 103 hp, with 132 Nm on the manual and 138 Nm on the automatic. German 1.5 cars were front-wheel drive, so check which version yours is in the registration document. S and Sports are trims, not engines, and the same goes for UK trim names such as EL or SL. Every one of these engines is naturally aspirated, so each takes the GAN GA+.
Which Sirion is yours
The first generation (M100 and M101, launched in 1998) was the export version of the Japanese Storia. In Britain, where Daihatsu sold the Sirion from 1998 until it stopped importing cars in 2011, the two generations are listed as the Sirion 1998 to 2005 and the Sirion 2005 to 2010. From 2000 it had the 1.3 K3-VE with 87 hp, the same engine code as the second generation. The M300, the second generation, came to Europe in 2005 as the export version of the Boon. Between September 2007 and September 2011 it was built in Esztergom, Hungary, for several European markets.
The 1.0 and 1.3 are the mainstream second-generation engines, with the 1.5 3SZ-VE above them. The Boon facelift arrived in December 2006 and reached Europe in 2007. The first generation had a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Sirion 2 is a common name for the second generation.
Daihatsu Sirion remap: common questions
Sirion 1.3 tuning box: how much more power?
The GAN GA+ takes the 87 hp 1.3 to 97 hp and 134 Nm. The box is rated at up to 12% more power; read that as the stated gain for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your own car.
What does a tuning box add to the 1.0 three-cylinder?
The 1.0 takes the GAN GA+ as well, starting from 70 hp and 93 Nm.
Do the 1.5 manual and automatic have the same figures?
The catalogue lists the 1.5 with 138 Nm, the automatic's torque, while the manual makes 132 Nm. The same 1.5 figures apply whichever gearbox you have.
Sirion remap or tuning box: what is the difference?
An ECU remap replaces the factory software in the engine control unit; a tuning box leaves it alone. Since the ECU software is never changed, your manufacturer's warranty is preserved, and you can remove the module whenever you like.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are in the table on this page.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
