What makes the Ford Puma special
Ford Puma remap: coupé or crossover?
Ford has used the Puma name twice, for a coupé built from 1997 to 2001 and for the crossover sold since 2019. Which of the two is in your drive decides what a Ford Puma remap with a tuning box means. Titanium, ST-Line, ST-Line X and ST are trim levels on the crossover, so go by the engine and its hp figure rather than the badge. The coupé came with the 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 Zetec-S; of these the catalogue covers the 1.7 with 125 hp, which takes the GAN GA+.
For the Puma 1.0 EcoBoost, the catalogue lists the 95 and 125 hp versions and the Hybrid with 125 and 155 hp, so even 125 hp can mean two different engines. A Ford Puma ST means the 1.5 EcoBoost with 200 hp, built from 2020 to 2024. Every crossover engine here takes the GAN GT.

The GAN GT takes the 155 hp Hybrid up to 188 hp. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading from your own car.
Puma 1.0 EcoBoost wet belt: does a tuning box change anything?
The camshafts of the Puma's 1.0 EcoBoost are chain-driven, whereas the oil pump belt runs in the oil. That belt wears faster unless the engine oil matches Ford's specification. Confirm the exact engine version and your VIN before assuming anything about the belt, as the layout is not identical on every 1.0 EcoBoost.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
