Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Honda CR-V III remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

2.2 i-DTEC 150 hp → 193 hp. The other engines gain at least +18 hp; check the table for each one.
- +95 Nmfor diesels
Diesels gain mostly torque: +87 to +95 Nm, which helps with overtaking and towing.

What makes the Honda CR-V III special
Honda CR-V Mk3 remap: the year decides the diesel
On the CR-V III (type RE, known as the Mk3) the production year decides the box, because the diesel changed in October 2009. A 2007 or 2008 car has the first diesel, the 2.2 i-CTDi with 140 hp and 340 Nm, which was built until September 2009. The 2.2 i-DTEC with 150 hp and 350 Nm replaced it in October 2009.
UK trims were SE, ES and EX, and the launch range paired the 2.0 i-VTEC petrol with the 2.2 i-CTDi diesel before the facelift brought in the 2.2 i-DTEC. The catalogue lists the two diesels separately, both for the GAN GT: the i-CTDi gains 41 hp and 93 Nm, and the i-DTEC 43 hp and 95 Nm. With only 2 hp between the two gains, what counts is picking the engine that matches your build date.
CR-V III petrols
The naturally aspirated 2.0 i-VTEC (R20A2), with 150 hp and 192 Nm, was built from 2006 to 2012 with a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic. The 2.4 i-VTEC, with 166 hp and 220 Nm, is also naturally aspirated and came with the five-speed automatic. Both petrols take the GAN GA+.
The 2.0 i-VTEC needs revs to make progress, so a box suits it as a measured gain rather than as diesel-style pull. Real Time 4WD all-wheel drive is standard on every CR-V III.
Honda CR-V III remap: common questions
CR-V III 2.2 i-DTEC remap: how much more power does the 150 hp car get?
The GAN GT lifts the engine from 150 hp and 350 Nm to 193 hp and 445 Nm. A turbodiesel like this is where the GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power. Read these as the stated figures for the engine type, not as a dyno reading of your own car.
How much will a tuning box add to a petrol CR-V III?
The 2.0 i-VTEC (150 hp, 192 Nm) gains 18 hp and 23 Nm, and the 2.4 i-VTEC (166 hp, 220 Nm) gains 20 hp and 26 Nm. The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power, and a naturally aspirated engine does not go beyond that.
What does a tuning box leave alone on the 2.2 diesel of the CR-V III?
On both the 2.2 i-CTDi and the i-DTEC, short trips clog the diesel particulate filter (DPF), and the flexible EGR bypass hose can crack. UK buying guides link DPF faults on the i-DTEC with cars that rarely get a longer run, at roughly 50,000 to 100,000 miles. The box adds power, but it neither cleans the filter nor replaces the hose.
Will my insurer need to know about the tuning box?
Yes. In the UK a power increase counts as a modification, and insurers expect to be told about it before you drive with the box fitted. Each insurer handles it differently, so check with yours first and quote the before-and-after output from the table above.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
