Not sure which engine you have?

The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Hyundai i10 remap: what changes

The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Hyundai i10 special

Hyundai i10 remap: small engines and one turbo

An i10 remap is limited by the engine itself, which in most versions is small and naturally aspirated. Hyundai UK has sold the i10 since 2008, and recent cars come in trims including SE Connect, Advance, Premium and N Line. The N Line's 1.0 T-GDI is the single turbocharged engine in today's range. In Britain the N Line is the version most tied to extra-power questions; its 1.0 T-GDi made 100 hp and 172 Nm until 2024 and makes 90 hp since.

Earlier i10 petrols are all naturally aspirated, from 63 to 87 hp. The N Line's 1.0 T-GDI has 100 hp up to 2024 and 90 hp afterwards. The 100 hp version has no separate i10 row: the same engine is listed as the 1.0 T-GDI of the Kia Cee'd. The 90 hp version has no row in the catalogue.

Three generations of the i10

The first i10, 2008 to 2013, offered a 1.1 at 67 hp, later 69 hp, and a 1.2 at 77 hp, later 86 hp. The first-generation 1.1 at 69 hp reaches 77 hp and 111 Nm with the GAN GA+. The second generation, sold from November 2013 to 2019, had a 1.0 at 67 hp and a 1.25 at 87 hp. UK road tests find the 1.0 adequate around town but less willing on open roads than the 1.2, the usual choice for faster driving. The third generation, from 2019, has a 1.0 at 67 hp and a 1.2 at 84 hp.

That 84 hp 1.2 has no row in the catalogue yet. In the catalogue the 1.3i at 87 hp and 121 Nm is the 1.25 of the second generation, 1248 cc. The 1.1 CRDi at 75 hp was the diesel of the first generation, sold from March 2008 to January 2010. It is the one engine on this page that takes the GAN GT. The Grand i10 is a different car, built in India and never sold in Europe, so its engines are not covered here.

FAQs

Hyundai i10 remap: common questions

i10 1.0 at 67 hp or 1.25 at 87 hp: which is mine?

Both belong to the second generation of 2013 to 2019. The 1.0 at 67 hp carries on in the third generation from 2019, so check the year of your car.

i10 1.25 remap: what does the GAN GA+ add?

The 1.25 starts at 87 hp and 121 Nm and reaches 97 hp and 136 Nm with the GAN GA+. The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power, and up to 15% lower fuel consumption with an economical driving style. Those are the stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading from your car.

What does the GAN GA+ add to the i10 1.0?

The 1.0 moves from 67 hp and 95 Nm to 75 hp and 106 Nm with the GAN GA+.

Which generations take the GAN GT for the 1.1 CRDi?

Only the first-generation diesel, because the later i10 models had no diesel.

Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?

Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?

Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
