What makes the Infiniti QX60 special
Infiniti QX60 remap for an imported car
A QX60 remap really comes down to one question: what a tuning box can add to the 3.5 V6. The QX60 is built in Smyrna, Tennessee, mainly for the United States, and it never joined the Infiniti Europe range. Infiniti Europe offered the Q30, QX30, Q50, Q60, Q70, QX50 and QX70 instead, so a QX60 here in Britain is a grey import. It was never listed by Infiniti's British dealers, and the brand has since withdrawn from Western Europe.
Which QX60 engine do you have?
The first generation launched in 2012 as the JX35, a badge it kept until 2013. In Britain it is simply the Infiniti QX60, and import adverts may quote North American model years that are not UK designations. Its 3.5 V6, the VQ35DE, is listed at 265 hp and 336 Nm, with a CVT doing the shifting. After the 2016 model year the V6 changed to the direct-injection VQ35DD, which the catalogue lists at 299 hp and 366 Nm. The second generation of 2021 keeps the VQ35DD and adds a nine-speed automatic.
Neither V6 is turbocharged. The QX60 Hybrid, sold from the 2014 model year, couples a supercharged 2.5-litre QR25DER with an electric motor. The catalogue row for the 2.5h shows 231 hp and 330 Nm for the petrol engine alone, while the Hybrid's 250 hp is the combined output. Every QX60 engine in the catalogue works with the GAN GA+. Your model year and the output on your registration documents decide which row fits.
Gearbox and model-year changes
The GAN box leaves the gearbox software alone, whether it is the first generation's CVT or the second generation's nine-speed automatic. Have the CVT of a first-generation car checked before you add power. From the 2025 model year the 3.5 V6 is replaced by a 2.0 turbo, the engine the Chinese QX60 already uses.

Pick the row by generation: 265 hp and 336 Nm up to the 2016 model year, 299 hp and 366 Nm after it. A later 299 hp car goes to 323 hp and 395 Nm. The GAN GA+ range is rated at up to 12% more power; that is the stated gain for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Does the QX60 Hybrid have a tuning box?
Yes: the catalogue row is the 2.5h, at 231 hp and 330 Nm for the supercharged 2.5-litre engine. The 250 hp figure is the system output, electric motor included.
Can I fit a tuning box to an imported QX60?
Go by the engine code rather than the market the car was sold in. Unlike a flash remap, the GAN box sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals, so the factory software, checksums and flash counter stay untouched. It plugs into the existing connectors and comes off again in about a minute.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
