What makes the Jaguar XF special
Jaguar XF remap: start with the 3.0 V6 Diesel
In Britain the XF has been sold since 2008, as the X250 first and, from 2015, as the X260. Among the engines on this page, the 3.0 V6 Diesel is the one to look at first: 240 hp as standard, or 275 hp and 600 Nm in the S version. The 2.2 D and the Ingenium 2.0 D diesels take the GAN GT as well.
The 3.0 V6 petrol with 238 hp and the 4.2 V8 with 298 hp take the GAN GA+. The supercharged 3.0 V6 with 340 and 380 hp goes with the GAN GT, so the two boxes are split by engine, and it pays to check your hp figure first. On an X250 diesel, a rattle at cold start is worth having looked at by a specialist before any extra torque goes on.

Fitted to the XF 3.0 V6 Diesel S, the GAN GT lifts 275 hp and 600 Nm to 346 hp and 734 Nm. Treat these as the catalogue figures for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your own car.
How much does a tuning box add to the XF V8 and the Supercharged V6?
On the 4.2 V8 with 298 hp the GAN GA+ adds 24 hp and 33 Nm, which sits within its rating of up to 12% more power. The supercharged 3.0 V6 with 340 hp gains 69 hp and 88 Nm from the GAN GT. Short trips are the weak spot for any fuel saving, so a diesel used mostly around town should not count on one.
Will my insurer need to know about the tuning box?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
