What makes the Kia K4 special
Kia K4 remap: the European hatchback and the saloon engines in the catalogue
Kia unveiled the K4 for Europe on 17 September 2025 as a five-door hatchback, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter of that year. A box is matched to one engine, not to a model name, so any K4 remap or tuning box starts with the engine. Kia now sells the K4 through its British dealers, in Pure, GT-Line and GT-Line S trims.
Both engines in the catalogue, the 1.6 T and the 2.0, come from saloons built for other markets rather than from this hatchback. Buyers of the hatchback choose between the 1.0 T-GDi at 115 hp and the 1.6 T-GDi at 150 or 180 hp. So the figures below describe those two saloon engines and nothing else.

Which car is the 175 hp 1.6 T row for?
That 1.6 T, at 175 hp and 265 Nm, belongs to an earlier K4 saloon sold outside Europe and not to the hatchback with its 1.6 T-GDi. The GAN GT takes it to 212 hp and 321 Nm and is rated at up to 30% more power. Treat these as the stated gains for the engine type, not as a dyno reading of your car.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
