Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Kia Stinger remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Kia Stinger special
Kia Stinger remap: three engines, all for the GAN GT
In Britain the Stinger was sold from early 2018 as the GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT-S, which are trim levels, not generations. Across Europe the Stinger ran from October 2017 to May 2023; after the 2020 facelift only the 3.3 T-GDI at 366 hp stayed in the line-up. That leaves three engines to consider, and all three take the GAN GT.
The 3.3 T-GDI is a twin-turbo V6: 370 hp up to August 2018, then 366 hp from September 2018, once a particulate filter was added. Both versions have a row in the catalogue, with 63 hp and 87 Nm more on the 370 hp engine and 62 hp and 87 Nm more on the 366 hp engine. The 3.3 GT-S is the enthusiast Stinger in Britain, with strong torque low in the rev range.
The 2.0 T-GDI and the 2.2 CRDi
The 2.0 T-GDI made 255 hp until August 2018 and 247 hp from September 2018, with 353 Nm both times. For the 2.0 T-GDI the catalogue shows a gain of 42 hp and 60 Nm. The 2.2 CRDi, at 200 hp and 440 Nm, was built from October 2017 to June 2020; the box adds 47 hp and 80 Nm.
In Britain the 2.2 CRDi is the long-distance, economy-minded Stinger, so extra torque is the point rather than speed. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the 2.0 T-GDI and the 2.2 CRDi, with all-wheel drive optional on the diesel; the 3.3 T-GDI is all-wheel drive, and all three have an eight-speed automatic.
Recall campaigns
Two recall campaigns were run in Germany: one for the left turbocharger's oil-feed pipe on the 3.3 T-GDI, the other for a piston in the high-pressure fuel pump valve of the 2.0 T-GDI. Both repairs cost the owner nothing, and the 2.0 T-GDI campaign also updates the control unit software.
Kia Stinger remap: common questions
Kia Stinger 3.3 T-GDI 366 remap: what does the GAN GT add?
It leaves the factory with 366 hp and 510 Nm and reaches 428 hp and 597 Nm with the GAN GT. On a turbo petrol like this the GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power. The figures above are stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Does the turbocharger oil-pipe recall matter if you fit a tuning box?
It affects the 3.3 T-GDI built between November 2016 and March 2023, and the pipe is repaired at no charge. A Kia dealer does the recall work.
Stinger GT remap or GAN tuning box: how do they differ?
A remap rewrites the factory software in the engine control unit (ECU); the GAN tuning box sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals instead. The factory software, the checksums and the flash counter stay untouched, and the engine keeps its factory protections.
Is there a box for the Stinger 2.2 CRDi?
Yes. The 2.2 CRDi takes the GAN GT, and the catalogue gives it 47 hp and 80 Nm more. The ECU software is never changed, so your manufacturer's warranty is preserved, and the box can be taken off at any time.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are in the table on this page.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
