Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Mercedes-Benz E W212 remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Mercedes-Benz E W212 special
Mercedes W212 remap: an E 200 is two different engines
An E 200 W212 is really two engines sold under one name. Up to February 2013 it was the 1.8-litre M271 turbo, and from March 2013 the 2.0-litre M274 turbo. That is the first thing to settle before you choose a tuning box. Both are rated at 184 hp, but the engine codes and displacements differ: 1,796 cc for the M271 and 1,991 cc for the M274. The facelift started series production on 1 March 2013 and reached dealers in April 2013.
The E 250 changed at the same moment, from the CGI with 204 hp and 310 Nm to the M274 with 211 hp and 350 Nm. In Britain it is the E-Class W212, as saloon or estate, and the 2013 car is simply called the facelifted W212, with no Mk number. The petrol fours and the CDI diesels are GAN GT engines, as is the twin-turbo V6 of the E 400, with 333 hp from 2013. Find the E 220 CDI in the table by its 170 hp figure.
The naturally aspirated V6 and the body codes
The E 300 and E 350 V6 engines are naturally aspirated and use the GAN GA+. The E 300 is rated at 231 hp and later 252 hp, the E 350 at 272, 292 and finally 306 hp. W212 is the saloon and S212 the estate; the C207 coupe and the A207 cabriolet form a separate series.
The saloon was built from 2009 to January 2016, the estate until May 2016. Begin with the build date of the car and its engine code.
Mercedes-Benz E W212 remap: common questions
Mercedes W212 remap for an E 200: which box, and how much more power?
The catalogue lists the E 200 at 184 hp and 270 Nm, rising to 236 hp and 355 Nm with the GAN GT. Read these as the stated figures for the engine type, not as a dyno reading of your own car. Cars up to February 2013 and those from March 2013 carry different engines, so check your car's year before you pick a row.
Which engines changed in the March 2013 facelift?
The E 180, E 200 and E 250 got the M274 engine from March 2013, and the 156 hp, 250 Nm E 180 joined the range. The V6 range had already changed: in September 2011 the E 300 went from a 3.0-litre V6 with 231 hp to a 3.5-litre V6 with 252 hp. The four-cylinder diesels kept the OM 651 and stay with the GAN GT.
Does the box cover the V6 of the E 300 and E 350?
Yes: both V6 engines are naturally aspirated, and the catalogue pairs them with the GAN GA+. That means up to 12%, less than the turbo E 200 or the CDI diesels get; the E 350 with 272 hp and 350 Nm goes to 294 hp and 378 Nm, but the figures depend on output and year.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are in the table on this page.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
