Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin remap: what changes
More power and torque without rewriting the ECU or swapping any parts. The GAN box only adjusts the engine sensor signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin special
Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin (Pajero Pinin) remap: which engines are covered
Searches for Pajero Pinin tuning often turn up suspension and tyres for off-road use; a tuning box works on the engine instead. In Britain it was sold as the Shogun Pinin, on three-door and five-door bodies and in Vivo, Equippe, Elegance, GLX and GLS trims. Three petrol engines were sold in Europe, all with four-wheel drive. The first was the 1.8 GDI with 120 hp, built from 1999 to 2001; then came the 2.0 GDI with 129 hp and 190 Nm, and from 2001 the 1.8 MPI with 114 hp and 160 Nm.
The 1.8 GDI with 120 hp has no row in the catalogue. The 1.8 MPI took over from the 1.8 GDI, and Europe never had a diesel. The other two engines both have catalogue rows, and both take the GAN GA+.
Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin remap: common questions
Shogun Pinin remap: which engine and which GAN box?
Start from the engine: the 2.0 GDI at 129 hp or the 1.8 at 114 hp. In the catalogue the 2.0 GDI goes from 129 hp and 190 Nm to 144 hp and 213 Nm with the GAN GA+, which is rated at up to 12% more power. Those are the stated gains for this engine type, not a dyno reading from your own car. Like the 1.8 GDI, the 2.0 GDI is a direct-injection engine and is not suitable for E10 fuel, so at a UK pump look for the E5 grade.
Is the Shogun Pinin the same car as the Pajero Pinin?
Yes: Shogun Pinin is simply the British badge for the Pajero Pinin, so the same figures apply.
Should I declare the GAN box to my insurer?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
