Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Pontiac G6 remap: what changes
More power and torque without rewriting the ECU or swapping any parts. The GAN box only adjusts the engine sensor signals. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Pontiac G6 special
Pontiac G6 remap: an American car on a European platform
Built by GM for North America at Lake Orion, Michigan, the Pontiac G6 never went to Europe. Pontiac had no official UK range, so a G6 on British roads is a private import. Its Epsilon platform is shared with the Vauxhall Vectra, known as the Opel Vectra on the Continent, and with the Saab 9-3; those relatives came to Europe, the G6 did not.
A G6 remap therefore starts from the American engines: the tuning box is matched to whichever one is under your bonnet. The saloon was built from 2005 to 2010, the coupé and the folding hard-top convertible from 2006 to 2009, and every body style is front-wheel drive. Cars keep their North American trim names, such as GTP and GXP, but the engine and not the trim decides the box.
Which G6 engine do you have?
The 2.4 DOHC four-cylinder came in 2006 and is listed in the catalogue at 171 hp and 220 Nm; its four-speed automatic gave way to a six-speed in 2009. Around 200 hp in 2005 and 2006 was the output of the pushrod 3.5 V6, which the catalogue shows as 205 hp and 300 Nm; from 2007 the 3.5 gained variable valve timing and a little more power. The 3.9 V6 was fitted from 2006 to 2008 and alone was offered with the six-speed manual; the 243 hp figure applies to the manual, and the automatic makes less.
In 2007 the 3.6 DOHC V6 was introduced in the GTP, then the GXP; the catalogue lists 255 hp and 340 Nm with a six-speed automatic. Only the 3.6 is a DOHC engine with variable valve timing, while the 3.5 and 3.9 are GM pushrod designs of an older type. Every G6 engine is naturally aspirated and takes the GAN GA+.
Pontiac G6 remap: common questions
What does the GAN GA+ add to a G6 3.6 V6?
The 255 hp engine reaches 275 hp and 367 Nm with the box. Across the range the GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power; the gains quoted are for the engine type and are not a dyno figure from your own car.
Does the GAN GA+ cover the 2.4 four-cylinder?
Yes: the 2.4 version with 171 hp and 220 Nm is on the GAN GA+ list.
Does a tuning box change the software in the G6 ECU?
Unlike a flash remap, the GAN box does not rewrite the ECU: it sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals, so the factory software, checksums and flash counter stay as they are. It plugs into the existing connectors and comes off in about a minute.
Can a box listed for the Vauxhall Vectra be used on a G6?
No: although the platform is common, the right box comes from the G6 engine list further up the page.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
