Toyota Aurion remap: one engine, two listings
An Aurion remap or tuning box rests on one fact: there is only one engine, the 3.5-litre 2GR-FE V6, so the two catalogue listings describe the same unit. Both the 268 hp and the 272 hp figures stand for the same output, with 336 Nm of torque in each. Australia's prestige version of the Camry, the Aurion was built from 2006 to 2017 and never sold in Europe.
Trims such as the Sportivo SX6 carry the same V6, and the supercharged TRD Aurion, only 537 built between 2007 and 2009, was a rarity. Toyota GB did not sell it either, so Aurions in Britain are grey imports. Imports keep their Australian trim names, AT-X, Sportivo, Touring and Presara, with no British model-year or Mk naming.

Yes, the Kluger has the 3.5-litre 2GR-FE too. The Camry V6 uses the same 3.5-litre 2GR-FE, with 336 Nm.
What does the GAN GA+ add to an Aurion?
The catalogue lists the Aurion at 272 hp and 336 Nm, and at 294 hp and 363 Nm with the GAN GA+. GAN rates the GA+ at up to 12% more power; as the V6 is naturally aspirated, treat that as a stated figure for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
