What makes the Volkswagen Arteon special
VW Arteon remap: which engine, which box
The Arteon (Typ 3H) sits on the MQB platform shared with the Passat B8 and reached customers in June 2017. British showrooms listed it simply as the Arteon, initially in Elegance and R-Line trim, and it is now a used purchase because Volkswagen no longer sells it new. There is no separate entry for the 1.5 TSI; the same engine is listed under the VW T-Roc 1.5 TSI. The 272 hp 2.0 TSI is filed elsewhere too, as the 2.0 TSI of the Škoda Superb III. For an Arteon 2.0 TDI remap with the GAN tuning box, the diesels at 150, 190, 200 and 240 hp and the petrol 2.0 TSI at 190 and 280 hp are all matched to the GAN GT.
The early 2.0 TDI 150, 190 and 240 BiTDI each have their own row in the catalogue, so quote your hp figure when you choose one. On the facelifted cars the 2.0 TDI 200 with seven-speed DSG is a different engine from the earlier 240 hp BiTDI, and the catalogue has a row for each. No, the first Arteon appeared at the Geneva motor show on 6 March 2017. British dealers took it from that year as a fastback, with the Shooting Brake estate following after the facelift.
What does an Arteon 2.0 TDI 190 remap with the GAN GT add?
Fitted with the GAN GT, the 190 hp Arteon diesel climbs to 225 hp, and torque rises from 400 Nm to 505 Nm. Read these as the stated gain for this engine type, not a dyno reading of your own car; across the GAN GT range the headline is up to 30% more power.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?

Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
