Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Audi A6 C8 remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Audi A6 C8 special
Audi A6 C8 remap: the numbers on the badge are not litres
The figure in an A6 C8 badge (Typ 4A) tells you the power class, not the engine size, and reading it correctly is the first step in choosing a tuning box. In Britain the car was sold as the A6 Saloon and A6 Avant in Sport and S line trims, with 40 TDI, 50 TDI, 45 TFSI and 55 TFSI badges and, later, the 55 TFSI e plug-in; the 35 TDI and 45 TDI figures on this page come from the European range. Start with the diesels: 204 hp comes from the 2.0 in the 40 TDI, 231 hp from the 3.0 V6 in the 45 TDI, and 286 hp from another 3.0 V6 in the 50 TDI. Specialists treat the four-cylinder 40 TDI and the V6 45 TDI and 50 TDI as separate cases when it comes to more power. The 45 TDI is rated at 245 hp from 2020.
This 245 hp 45 TDI has no row in the catalogue yet. The 45 TFSI is a 2.0 petrol with 245 hp up to 2020 and 265 hp from then on. The 265 hp 45 TFSI has no separate A6 C8 row; use the 45 TFSI 265 hp of the facelifted Audi A4 B9, which is the same engine. The 55 TFSI is a 3.0 V6 with 340 hp, fed by one twin-scroll turbocharger. Its 367 hp is the combined output of a 2.0 TFSI engine and an electric motor, because the 55 TFSI e is a plug-in hybrid.
What the GAN GT adds on petrol, and what to check before you start
The GAN GT takes the petrol 45 TFSI from 245 hp to 287 hp and the 55 TFSI from 340 hp to 398 hp. A high-mileage A6 C8 diesel should be inspected before anything is fitted, as injector and dual-mass flywheel faults can occur and a damaged chain drive on the V6 TDI is an especially costly repair. Go through the service history and have a diagnostic scan done before you add power.
Audi A6 C8 remap: common questions
Audi A6 diesel remap: what does the GAN GT add to each version?
The 35 TDI rises from 163 hp to 197 hp, the 40 TDI from 204 hp to 247 hp and the 45 TDI from 231 hp to 270 hp. The 50 TDI reaches 335 hp from 286 hp. These are stated gains for the engine types, not dyno readings from your own A6.
A6 C8 55 TFSI e: which power figure does the tuning box work with?
The 367 hp is the system output of the 2.0 TFSI and the electric motor together. Because the 55 TFSI e also carries a plug-in battery of 17.9 kWh gross on later cars, that figure is a system output, not the petrol engine's alone. With the GAN GT the system output rises from 367 hp to 429 hp.
A6 C8: tuning box or flash remap?
A flash remap changes the factory ECU software, whereas the GAN tuning box leaves it alone, since it only adjusts sensor signals and the flash counter stays untouched. The ECU software is never changed and the module can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer's warranty is preserved.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
