Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Ford Focus III remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Ford Focus III special
Ford Focus Mk3 remap: start with the ST and RS
Two fast versions come first: the ST, whose 2.0 EcoBoost makes 250 hp, and the RS, whose 2.3 EcoBoost makes 350 hp. The 2.0 EcoBoost ST dates from June 2012, the diesel ST with 185 hp from November 2014, and the RS was built between January 2016 and April 2018. UK sources call the car the Focus Mk3; it was sold new in Britain from 2011, with the facelift car continuing until 2018. The two petrols and the diesel ST 2.0 TDCi are all turbocharged, so each takes the GAN GT.
Engines in the everyday Mk3
The 1.0 EcoBoost comes first, in 101 and 125 hp versions from March 2012, with a 140 hp version added in 2017. On the 1.0 EcoBoost, UK buying guides flag the nylon coolant degas hose and the wet timing belt, so have a garage check both before you fit a box. In September 2014 the 1.5 EcoBoost, in 150 and 182 hp, replaced the 1.6 EcoBoost with the same outputs, and the GAN GT covers both.
The diesels take the GAN GT as well: the 1.6 TDCi with 95 to 116 hp, the 1.5 TDCi that replaced it in September 2014 with 95, 105 and 120 hp, and the 2.0 TDCi. The one naturally aspirated engine, the 1.6 Ti-VCT with 85, 105 and 125 hp, goes with the GAN GA+.
Ford Focus III remap: common questions
Focus ST remap: how much does the GAN GT add to the 2.0 EcoBoost?
The ST, rated at 250 hp and 360 Nm, is shown in the catalogue at 317 hp and 457 Nm with the GAN GT. Read these as the stated figures for the engine type, not as a dyno reading of your own car.
Does the 1.6 EcoBoost recall change anything for a Mk3 tuning box?
The recall applies to the petrol 1.6 EcoBoost with 150 and 182 hp built between July 2010 and September 2014, where poor coolant circulation can overheat the cylinder head. The facelift 1.5 EcoBoost is not affected, and for any individual car the build date decides, so ask a Ford dealer. A flash remap of the Focus ECU rewrites the factory software; the GAN box sits between the engine sensors and the ECU instead and adjusts their signals.
Can the naturally aspirated 1.6 engines of the Ford Focus take a tuning box?
Yes: the 1.6 Ti-VCT with 85, 105 and 125 hp takes the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power.
Should I declare the GAN box to my insurer?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
