Chiptuning Geely
Up to 30% more power for your Geely
Our Geely catalog covers 34 engines (models: 10, generations: 13). For 21% of the engines there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning boxes; for 27 naturally aspirated engines, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Geely plug-in remap: no changes to the ECU software
The tuning box sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals – unlike a flash remap, which rewrites the ECU. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

Geely remapping: questions
Is there a GAN box for the petrol Geely Starray and Coolray?
No. The Starray and the Coolray share one engine, a 1.5 turbo with 174 hp and 290 Nm. That 1.5 turbo has no row in the catalogue.
Which GAN box fits the Geely Atlas I with the 1.8T, 2.0 or 2.4?
Other markets have the Atlas I with the 1.8T, 2.0 or 2.4; it has not been sold in Europe. The turbo 1.8T takes the GAN GT, while the non-turbo 2.0 and 2.4 take the GAN GA+. On the Atlas I 1.8T, a car for other markets with 184 hp and 285 Nm, the GAN GT gives 223 hp and 345 Nm. Read these as the stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your car.
What about the Monjaro, the EX5 and the Starray EM-i?
The catalogue's Monjaro 2.0T with 238 hp is a car for other markets. The Monjaro has not been sold in Europe, and its first European version is a plug-in hybrid. Both the EX5 and the EX2 are electric, so there is no combustion engine for a tuning box to work with. The Starray EM-i pairs a 99 hp 1.5 petrol engine with a 218 hp electric motor, and that 1.5 petrol is not in the catalogue.
Tuning box or ECU remap on a Geely?
Where a remap rewrites the factory software, the GAN box sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, checksums and flash counter stay exactly as they were, and the engine's own protections remain active. Because the ECU software is never changed and the box can be removed at any time, your manufacturer's warranty is preserved.
Will my insurer need to know about the tuning box?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are on your engine's page.
Will a tuning box affect my Geely warranty?
No. The box does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. On top of that, we give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or remap: which should I choose?
A flash remap permanently rewrites the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning box adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute. A flash remap can be the better choice if the engine has upgraded hardware, or if the car is out of warranty and you accept the risks.
Geely chip tuning: what to know about the engines
Geely remap or tuning box? What is actually sold in Europe
The electric EX5 brought Geely back to Europe in 2025, and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid followed in 2026; any Geely tuning box question starts from that return. In Britain Geely launched in late 2025, so older catalogue models such as the Emgrand, Atlas, Tugella and Monjaro are discontinued overseas cars or grey imports here. Aimed at Western Europe and the UK, the Starray EM-i pairs a 99 hp petrol engine with a 218 hp electric motor, giving a system output of 262 hp. Germany, Spain and the Benelux countries received it on 25 and 26 March 2026. UK orders for the Starray EM-i opened in February 2026. The electric EX5, which Germany calls the E5, is sold in Greece, the Balkans, Italy and the UK.
In south-eastern Europe the petrol Starray, which is the Boyue L in China and the Atlas II in the catalogue, is sold through the distributor SEEAG. Serbia came first, in December 2024, and Romania, Croatia and Greece are on the list too. Under the bonnet is a 1.5 turbo with 174 hp and 290 Nm, built jointly with Volvo, plus a 2.0 turbo with four-wheel drive. Serbia and its neighbours also get the Coolray (the Binyue in China), with the same 1.5 turbo. The Coolray reached Serbia in 2023.
Catalogue models from other markets
This matters for a Geely tuning box: the catalogue was built for the whole brand, so check which market your car comes from. Imported cars in Britain keep their overseas names and badges, such as Emgrand, GC9, Atlas, Tugella and Monjaro, and the specification varies with the country of origin. Most catalogue cars belong to other markets. The Atlas I, called Boyue in China, was sold in the Middle East, Latin America, Malaysia and Belarus. It runs the 1.8T, the 2.0 or the 2.4. In December 2011 the Emgrand EC7 (2009 to 2021) scored four stars in the European NCAP crash test, yet it was not sold in the EU or the UK. Its engines came from Mitsubishi: a 1.5, a 1.8 and, from 2014, a 1.3 turbo.
The GC9 (also the Borui or Emgrand GT) was built from 2015 to 2022 with a 1.8T of 163 hp, a 2.4 of 162 hp or a 3.5 V6 of 275 hp. So far the Monjaro (the Xingyue L in China) has not been sold in Europe; its first European version is the Monjaro EM-i plug-in hybrid. The Tugella was offered overseas with a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol of 238 hp and 350 Nm, so confirm the market specification before buying a tuning product. A Geely Monjaro remap or tuning box question usually concerns the overseas 2.0 turbo petrol of 238 hp and 350 Nm with an eight-speed automatic. As a rule the GAN GT, rated at up to 30% more power, suits turbo petrol engines, and the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12%, suits naturally aspirated ones.

Which Geely models are in the catalog
The catalog covers 10 models from Geely. The most engines are listed for the Emgrand (14), GC (6) and Atlas (4). The biggest gain among the models is on the Atlas: up to +42 hp.
Naturally aspirated Geely engines
For 27 naturally aspirated engines from Geely, there is the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% lower fuel consumption in ECO mode, which means better MPG. You can fit it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
How to find your Geely engine
Pick your model from the list above, then the generation by model year and chassis code, then the engine by the power output in your registration document. The engine page shows the exact gain and the price of the box.
