Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Opel Astra K remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Opel Astra K special
Vauxhall Astra K remap: two closely related diesels
If you are looking for a Vauxhall Astra K remap with a tuning box, the likely candidates are the two 1.6 CDTi diesels rated at 110 hp and 136 hp. They share an engine family and both are turbocharged, with 300 Nm and 320 Nm of torque, and the GAN GT is the box for either. The 1.6 CDTi with 95 hp, which stayed in production until June 2018, is covered as well.
The petrol 1.6 Turbo with 200 hp also takes the GAN GT, and the catalogue lists its torque as 280 Nm. The one naturally aspirated option is the 1.4 with 100 hp and 130 Nm, which takes the GAN GA+.
Petrol engines with no row in the catalogue
The 1.0 Turbo with 105 hp and the 1.4 Turbo with 125 and 150 hp have no row in the catalogue. Both are common petrol versions of this generation, but the catalogue does not list them yet. Most petrol Astra K engines use direct injection; the naturally aspirated 1.4 is the exception, with port injection.
From launch to the facelift
The Astra K was unveiled at the IAA in September 2015 and reached showrooms in October 2015 as a hatchback and a Sports Tourer. In Britain it was sold as a Vauxhall, mainly as a five-door hatchback and the Sports Tourer estate, in trims such as Design, Tech Line and Elite. The August 2019 facelift dropped the 1.6 CDTi and the earlier turbo engines.
What Opel Astra owners say about GAN
In general, I liked everything!! At least according to my personal feelings this device corresponds to the declared characteristics Good device, and you do not need to buy another device for another car.
Opel Astra K remap: common questions
Astra K 1.6 CDTi remap: what does the 136 hp version gain?
The catalogue puts this diesel at 176 hp and 409 Nm with the GAN GT, up from 136 hp and 320 Nm. On the 110 hp version the gain is 33 hp. The GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power on turbocharged engines like this one. Those are catalogue gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading of your own car.
Can I get a box for the Astra K 1.0 Turbo or 1.4 Turbo?
Not at the moment: for this generation the catalogue covers the naturally aspirated 1.4, the 1.6 CDTi in 95, 105, 110 and 136 hp versions and the 1.6 Turbo with 200 hp.
Is there a tuning box for the naturally aspirated Astra 1.4 with 100 hp?
The engine has no turbocharger, so it takes the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power. In the catalogue the gain is 12 hp. British buyers will know the car as the Vauxhall Astra Mk7. Real-world petrol economy in an Astra can sit well below the brochure figure, depending on the engine and how the car is driven.
Should I declare the GAN box to my insurer?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are in the table on this page.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
