Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

BMW 5 Series G30 remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the BMW 5 Series G30 special
BMW 540i remap on the G30: one B58, several power figures
Every 540i G30 uses the same 3.0-litre B58 six-cylinder, rated at 340 hp before the facelift and 333 hp after it, with 450 Nm either way. Facelifted cars add a 48-volt on-board system. G30 is the Saloon and G31 the Touring; both were shown in October 2016 and facelifted in July 2020. Britain describes it as the 2017 to 2023 5 Series Saloon, with SE and M Sport as the main trims and xDrive on the four-wheel-drive versions.
The build date therefore decides which 540i the tuning box is matched to, and the 530d works the same way. On the 530d, a single turbocharger with 265 hp and 620 Nm gave way to two turbochargers with 286 hp and 650 Nm. The M550i xDrive has the twin-turbo N63 V8, first rated at 462 hp and later at 530 hp.
540i before and after the facelift: what the GAN GT adds
The GAN GT takes the 340 hp 540i to 416 hp and 550 Nm, and the 333 hp car to 390 hp. That is the stated gain for this engine type, not a dyno reading from your own car.
BMW 5 Series G30 remap: common questions
G30 540i: is yours the 340 hp or the 333 hp car?
A car built before July 2020 makes 340 hp, and one built after the facelift makes 333 hp. Both take the GAN GT and share the same stock torque of 450 Nm. Used-car guidance flags PCV-related faults on the B58, so check a higher-mileage 540i first.
BMW 520d remap: which GAN box fits the G30?
The 520d runs the B47, with 190 hp and 400 Nm. The GAN GT is the box for that engine. The 48-volt mild hybrid reached the 520d in November 2019, ahead of the facelift. If your 520d mostly does short journeys, DPF and EGR trouble is the thing to think about before you add torque.
G30 530d: GAN tuning box or flash remap?
The GAN box leaves the factory software in the engine control unit as it is, whereas a flash remap replaces it. The ECU software is never changed and the module can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer's warranty is preserved.
Will my insurer need to know about the tuning box?
Yes. In the UK a power increase counts as a modification, and insurers expect to be told about it before you drive with the box fitted. Each insurer handles it differently, so check with yours first and quote the before-and-after output from the table above.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
