Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Volkswagen Polo V remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Volkswagen Polo V special
VW Polo Mk5 remap: the name 1.2 TSI covers two engines
On the Polo V, the label 1.2 TSI covers two quite different engines. The 6R Polo, up to March 2014, used the EA111, rated at 105 hp and, from January 2011, also at 90 hp. The 6C facelift, built from April 2014, switched to the EA211 in 90 and 110 hp versions, and the 110 hp engine carries the code CJZD.
The year and the engine code are therefore what tell the two apart when you choose a tuning box for a Polo V, which Britain calls the Polo Mk5. The catalogue lists the 105 hp EA111 and the 110 hp EA211 as separate rows, and both take the GAN GT. UK badges included S, SE, SEL, Match, BlueMotion, BlueGT, R-Line and GTI.
GTI, diesels and the small petrols
A Polo GTI remap depends on the facelift, because from 2014 the 1.4 TSI Twincharger with 179 hp gave way to the 1.8 TSI with 192 hp. Both the Twincharger and the 192 hp 1.8 TSI of the GTI take the GAN GT. The diesels changed family in 2014, when the EA189 1.2 TDI at 75 hp and the 1.6 TDI at 75, 90 and 105 hp gave way to the EA288 1.4 TDI at 75, 90 and 105 hp.
The GAN GT covers the 1.2 TDI at 75 hp, the 1.6 TDI at 75 and 90 hp and the 1.4 TDI at 75, 90 and 105 hp. The naturally aspirated 1.0 MPI at 60 and 75 hp and the 1.2 MPI at 60 and 70 hp are matched to the GAN GA+. The facelift range in Britain also included the BlueGT with the 1.4 TSI at 150 hp, which has a row of its own in the catalogue.
Volkswagen Polo V remap: common questions
What does a Polo 1.2 TSI 105 remap with the GAN GT give?
The GAN GT takes the 1.2 TSI, at 105 hp and 175 Nm, to 125 hp and 228 Nm. The GAN GT is rated at up to 30% more power, and these are catalogue gains for the engine type, not a dyno result for your car.
Does the box change anything on the DSG of a Polo GTI?
The Polo's 7-speed DSG is the dry-clutch DQ200, rated at 250 Nm. The 1.8 GTI makes 320 Nm with the manual gearbox but only 250 Nm with the DSG, because its output is already limited to suit the gearbox. The GAN box does not reprogram the gearbox.
Can I fit a tuning box to a Polo 1.6 TDI that has had the emissions software update?
The Polo V's EA189 diesels, the 1.2 and 1.6 TDI built from 2009 to 2014, were covered by the recall and its software update. The box changes neither the ECU software nor the recall update.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a GAN tuning box?
Tell them. A tuning box raises the output, and in Britain that is a declarable modification like any other performance change. Policies differ, so a quick call to your insurer before fitting is the safe route; the figures they will ask for are the stock and GAN outputs listed here.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
