Each engine has its own tuning box: GAN GT / GTL or GAN GA / GA+. Prices are per box and include the current discount.
Not sure which engine you have?
The badge alone is not enough: in this generation, the same engine designation came in different power outputs, each with its own calibration. Check the power output in your registration document and find the matching row.

Volkswagen Polo VI remap: what changes
The GAN box plugs in between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals, while a flash remap rewrites the ECU itself. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What makes the Volkswagen Polo VI special
VW Polo Mk6 remap (2017 on): which engines are covered
The Polo VI (Typ AW) was unveiled on 16 June 2017, has been built in Pamplona since September 2017 and was facelifted in April 2021. The three-cylinder 1.0 MPI was offered with 65 and 75 hp and, from July 2020, with 80 hp. These engines are in the catalogue, and the tuning box for each is the GAN GA+.
The turbocharged 1.0 TSI with 95 or 110 hp has no row in the catalogue yet. The 1.0 MPI is naturally aspirated, unlike the 1.0 TSI, which is the engine more often discussed for remapping. In Britain the pre-facelift range ran from the base Polo through SE, Beats, SEL and R-Line to the GTI, and the Life and Style trims came with the facelift.
The GTI, the diesel and what is missing
For a Polo GTI remap, the catalogue has a row for the 200 hp, 320 Nm car with the GAN GT, and the GAN GT also covers the 1.6 TDI at 80 and 95 hp. The 1.6 TDI was built from December 2017 to August 2020, and the range has had no diesel since. It is a timing-belt turbodiesel that was offered only in 80 and 95 hp forms. Britain simply says Polo Mk6, or Polo 6.
The 1.5 TSI with 150 hp has no row of its own under the Polo VI; the same engine is listed as the 1.5 TSI of the VW T-Roc. The facelift GTI with 207 hp has no row in the catalogue. In Britain the early GTI is the Polo that enthusiasts most often talk about remapping.
Volkswagen Polo VI remap: common questions
What does a Polo 1.0 75 hp remap with the GAN GA+ give?
The GAN GA+ takes the naturally aspirated 1.0, at 75 hp and 95 Nm, to 84 hp and 106 Nm. The GAN GA+ is rated at up to 12% more power, and these are catalogue gains for the engine type, not a dyno result for your car.
What does the GAN GT do for the Polo VI GTI?
On the GTI the GAN GT lifts 200 hp and 320 Nm to 242 hp and 387 Nm.
What caps torque on a Polo VI with the 7-speed DSG?
The 1.0 TSI and the 1.5 TSI can be paired with the 7-speed dry-clutch DSG (DQ200), which is rated at 250 Nm. The GAN box does not reprogram the gearbox.
Does a GAN tuning box affect my car insurance?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are in the table on this page.
Is a tuning module the same as a Stage 1 remap?
Not quite. Stage 1 usually means an ECU remap without replacing any parts. The tuning module also works without replacing parts, but it does not change the ECU software: it adjusts the sensor signals, comes off in about a minute, and the OFF button in the app restores the factory settings.
