How much more power does a Grand Cherokee WK2 3.0 V6 CRD get from the GAN GT?
With 250 hp and 570 Nm as standard, that version goes to 317 hp and 700 Nm with the GAN GT. For the 241 hp version, the catalogue gain is 65 hp and 111 Nm. Read these as the stated gains for this engine type, not as a dyno reading of your car.
Jeep Wrangler remap: which GAN box fits the JK and the JL?
The Wrangler JK 2.8 CRD comes in two versions and both take the GAN GT, gaining 50 hp and 107 Nm (177 hp engine) or 56 hp and 114 Nm (200 hp engine). For the Wrangler JL, the 2.0 turbo (270 hp in the catalogue) gains 30 hp and 60 Nm with the GAN GT; the 3.6 V6 Pentastar takes the GAN GA+ instead.
How much do the Renegade and Compass diesels and turbo petrols gain?

Tuning box or ECU remap on a Jeep diesel?
A remap means rewriting the factory software in the engine control unit (ECU). Factory software, checksums and flash counter stay as they were with the GAN box, which sits between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. Because the ECU software is never changed and the box can be removed at any time, your manufacturer's warranty is preserved.
Will my insurer need to know about the tuning box?
Yes. In the UK a power increase counts as a modification, and insurers expect to be told about it before you drive with the box fitted. Each insurer handles it differently, so check with yours first and quote the before-and-after output from your engine's page.
Will a tuning box affect my Jeep warranty?
No. The box does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. On top of that, we give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or remap: which should I choose?
A flash remap permanently rewrites the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning box adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute. A flash remap can be the better choice if the engine has upgraded hardware, or if the car is out of warranty and you accept the risks.

Jeep remap or tuning box? Whose engine is under the bonnet
A heavy Grand Cherokee wants torque on a long climb, and its 3.0 V6 CRD diesel has 550 to 570 Nm of it, which is where any Jeep remap or tuning box discussion begins. VM Motori builds that diesel, rated at 190 hp until 2013, 241 hp until 2017 and 250 hp since. In Britain Grand Cherokee buyers split by drivetrain, because towing, economy and power delivery differ between the diesel, the petrol and the 4xe. The 4xe pairs a turbo petrol with electric motors for 380 hp in total, so it is a different case from the diesels on this page. Jeep's European diesels all come from other makers. The VM Motori 2.5 and 2.8 CRD power the Cherokee KJ and KK and the Wrangler JK.
Mercedes diesels, the 2.7 and 3.0 CRD, go into the Grand Cherokee WJ (from 2002), the WH and the Commander. Until 2004 the Grand Cherokee WJ had the 2.7 CRD at 163 hp, while the WH and the Commander carry the 3.0 CRD at 218 hp and 510 Nm. Fiat's MultiJet, in 1.6, 2.0 and 2.2 litres, is what the Renegade, Compass, Cherokee KL and Wrangler JL use. Volkswagen supplied the first Compass with a 2.0 CRD and Mercedes later a 2.2 CRD, while the Renegade arrived in 2014 and the Compass II in July 2017. In Europe the 3.0 V6 was known as the 3.0 CRD or MultiJet; EcoDiesel is just the American name for it. UK naming follows the global Jeep badges, and 4xe marks the plug-in hybrids.
Petrol Jeeps: the Pentastar, the Hemi and the 2.0 turbo
The Wrangler JK switched from the 3.8 to the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 in January 2012. A 3.2 V6 with 272 hp powers the Cherokee KL. Until 2011 the Wrangler JK kept the older 3.8 V6, which made 196 to 199 hp. Chrysler's Hemi is a V8. The Grand Cherokee WH and WK2 and the Commander use the 5.7 (326 to 360 hp), and the SRT gets the 6.4 with 468 hp.
The Wrangler JL has used the 2.0 turbo with 270 hp and the eTorque mild hybrid system since August 2018. The Wrangler JL's diesel, the 2.2 MultiJet (200 hp, 450 Nm), ran from August 2018 to December 2020. Ignore Sport, Limited, Trailhawk and Rubicon when you look up your engine: they are trim levels, not engines.
