Chiptuning Porsche
Up to 30% more power for your Porsche
Our Porsche catalog covers 111 engines (models: 8, generations: 15). For 33% of the engines there are the GAN GT (up to 30% more power) and GAN GTL (up to 25%) tuning boxes; for the rest, the GAN GA and GAN GA+ (up to 12%). Each engine’s figures are on its own page.
Porsche plug-in remap: no changes to the ECU software
The tuning box sits between the sensors and the engine control unit (ECU) and adjusts their signals – unlike a flash remap, which rewrites the ECU. Your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed, and the box can be removed at any time.

What Porsche owners say about GAN
Simple and convenient. Satisfied with result. I connected this device via the attached cable and hid it behind the pile floor covering. Up to 100 km, I notices the result: the throttle response at 1,2,3 gear is better, the fuel consumption did not change (I use the “Dynamic” mode). I think the result is good for such…
Porsche remapping: questions
911 Carrera, 991.1 or 991.2: which GAN box fits?
The 991.1 Carrera, Carrera S and Carrera GTS are naturally aspirated and suit the GAN GA+. The 991.2 Carrera has a 3.0 twin-turbo, and there is no row for the 991.2 in the catalogue yet.
How much can a naturally aspirated Boxster or Cayman gain with the GAN GA+?
The flat-sixes of the 986, 987 and 981 suit the GAN GA+, rated at up to 12% more power. For a Porsche 981 remap, take the Boxster 2.7: the catalogue shows 286 hp and 302 Nm against a standard 265 hp and 280 Nm. These are the stated gains for the engine type, not a dyno reading from your own car.
What does the GAN GT do for the 718 Boxster and Cayman with the 2.0 or 2.5 turbo?
The 2.0 at 300 hp and the 2.5 at 350 hp are both turbocharged four-cylinders, so the GAN GT covers them. The 4.0 flat-six that came back later is naturally aspirated, so it goes with the GAN GA+.
Tuning box or remap for a Porsche?
A remap rewrites the factory software, whereas the GAN tuning box works between the engine sensors and the ECU and adjusts their signals. The factory software, checksums and flash counter stay as they were, and the engine keeps its factory protections. Your manufacturer's warranty is preserved: the ECU software is never changed and the box can come off at any time.
Should I declare the GAN box to my insurer?
Yes, declare it. British insurers treat extra power as a modification, so the safe course is to tell them before you fit the box. How they treat it varies from one insurer to another, so ask before you fit the box; the standard and tuned figures you will be asked for are on your engine's page.
Will a tuning box affect my Porsche warranty?
No. The box does not change the ECU software and can be removed at any time, so your manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. On top of that, we give an engine warranty: 2 years with the GAN GT, 1 year with the GAN GTL.
Tuning box or remap: which should I choose?
A flash remap permanently rewrites the maps in the ECU and leaves a trace in the flash counter. The GAN tuning box adjusts the sensor signals instead: the ECU stays in factory condition, and you can return the car to stock in about a minute. A flash remap can be the better choice if the engine has upgraded hardware, or if the car is out of warranty and you accept the risks.
Porsche chip tuning: what to know about the engines
Porsche remap: a turbo without the badge
For a Porsche tuning box the engine matters, not the badge: a car without Turbo on the tailgate can still be turbocharged. A Porsche badged Turbo is turbocharged, yet the Carrera, Carrera S and Carrera GTS of the 997 and 991.1 are all naturally aspirated. The 991.2 Carrera breaks the pattern: it already has a 3.0 twin-turbo without Turbo in its name.
One model name can therefore call for two different boxes; your engine decides which one fits. The rule of thumb: a turbo engine goes with the GAN GT (up to 30% more power), a naturally aspirated one with the GAN GA+ (up to 12%).
718: the Boxster and Cayman go four-cylinder
The Boxster and Cayman were sold as the 718 from 2016 to 2025, internal code 982. Turbocharged four-cylinders replaced the naturally aspirated flat-sixes of the 986, 987 and 981: a 2.0 at 300 hp and a 2.5 at 350 hp. A naturally aspirated 4.0 flat-six of 400 to 500 hp returned later.
In Britain it appears in the 718 GTS models, rated at 400 hp. For a Porsche 718 remap, the catalogue gives the 718 Boxster 2.0 at 300 hp and the 2.5 at 350 hp the GAN GT, as it does the 718 Cayman 2.0 at 300 hp.

Naturally aspirated flat-sixes: Boxster, Cayman and 911
The GAN GA+ suits the flat-six Boxsters of the 986, 987 and 981, which range from 204 to 375 hp. A UK Boxster 2.7 is listed at 265 hp, matching the Boxster 2.7 row in the catalogue. It also fits the Cayman 3.4 S at 295, 320 and 325 hp and the Cayman GTS at 340 hp. The 997 Carrera 4S at 355 and 385 hp, the 997 Carrera GTS at 408 hp and the 991 Carrera S at 400 hp take it as well.
Decoding Porsche letters and codes
S marks a more powerful version, with GTS (Gran Turismo Sport) one step above it. RennSport, RS for short, is a road version derived from a racing car. Carrera is the long-standing title of the core 911 line, borrowed from the Carrera Panamericana race. The 4 in Carrera 4, 4S or Targa 4 means four-wheel drive. The Targa is an open 911 with a roll bar, named after the Targa Florio race.
Porsche's internal type codes are 986, 987, 981 and 982. UK listings use these internal codes, not Mk numbers, to name a generation. To identify a car, combine the model name (911, Cayenne, Macan, Boxster or Cayman) with the body code, such as 997, 991 or 981.
Which Porsche models are in the catalog
The catalog covers 8 models from Porsche. The most engines are listed for the Cayenne (31), Boxster (26) and Panamera (15). The biggest gain among the models is on the Cayenne: up to +102 hp.
Naturally aspirated Porsche engines
For 67 naturally aspirated engines from Porsche, there is the GAN GA+: up to 12% more power and up to 15% lower fuel consumption in ECO mode, which means better MPG. You can fit it yourself, in most cases in under 15 minutes.
How to find your Porsche engine
Pick your model from the list above, then the generation by model year and chassis code, then the engine by the power output in your registration document. The engine page shows the exact gain and the price of the box.
