Subaru Crosstrek remap: one hybrid for Europe
As the third generation, the Crosstrek took over from the XV in Europe, and the line-up narrowed to one powertrain, the 2.0 e-Boxer. In Britain the Crosstrek name replaced XV on this generation, with trims called 2.0i e-Boxer Limited and Touring. A 136 hp, 182 Nm boxer engine works with a 16.7 hp electric motor, a Lineartronic CVT and permanent all-wheel drive. What matters when fitting a tuning box to a Crosstrek is the engine itself, a naturally aspirated boxer.
The e-Boxer is a naturally aspirated hybrid, not a turbo engine, and it can feel short of power when worked hard, particularly through the CVT. In the catalogue the match is the GAN GA+ on the 2.0 ie row, 136 hp and 182 Nm, which is the petrol side of the e-Boxer. A 2.0 with 145 hp is listed too, but that belongs to a Crosstrek built for other markets; the European car is the e-Boxer.
